Aloha Frederick, I'm curious: have you thought of publishing the book yourself? You'll have more creative control over the final product. Yes, traditional publishers have a greater distribution arm, but you've already established a following, why not leverage it yourself?
Yes, of course I’ve considered self-pub, though ideally I’d prefer someone else handle marketing, distribution and what not. I’m sure you understand my preference.
I'm intrigued which card you kept getting. And I honestly thought you were intending to self publish. I guess I must've assumed this because you've done a lot of the art work yourself.
I’ll detail more about the card soon. But I’ll add that it got to the point where I was hesitant to do draws while writing the book, the odds of its reappearance kept blowing my mind.
As a graphic artist I immediately create visuals for whatever I’m working on, and with my book I wanted a compelling cover to grab the attention of whoever I was submitting queries to (with my synopsis.) Worst case scenario was if I had to self publish the cover would already be ready to go.
Wow! Great call, Susan! Indeed, the first card that I drew to define Dahmer's character in the very first draft of the novel was the Knight of Swords. (This was a blind draw, and not me 'picking' that card as a significator.)
But things took another sharp turn, as I continued to work with the cards--which I'll detail in the post.
You should also take a look at the new investigation that was done on Dahmer's case recently. New evidence has surfaced which the media tried to hide from the public. If you're interested, might wanna explore https://thedahmercase.substack.com/

My bet is on the knight or page of swords ⚔️. Or something swords! I was going to say the Devil but that was too obvious 😅
